The Mossel Bay Baptist Bible Church is an independent Baptist Church which subscribes to Baptist principles. We are an evangelical, Bible-centred, expository preaching, discipling community of Believers. We teach and practice the Priesthood of all Believers and believe that every Christian has a spiritual gift or gifts which must be exercised for the benefit of themselves and their local body of Believers, to the glory of God and for the extension of His kingdom.
We believe that we are called to fulfil the Great Commission in Matthew 18, and do so through our Worship, Evangelism, Discipleship, Ministry, and Fellowship.

The CHURCH is the whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit. The local church, being a manifestation of the universal church, is a community of believers in a particular place where the Word of God is preached and the ordinances of Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are observed. It is fully autonomous and remains so notwithstanding responsibilities it may accept by voluntary association.
That the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament in their original writings are fully inspired of God, inerrant, and we accept them as the final authority for faith and life.
That there is one God, Creator of all, Holy, Sovereign, Eternal, existing eternally in three equal persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the absolute and essential Deity of Jesus Christ, in His Virgin Birth, true humanity, sinless life, substitutionary and propitiatory death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven and his future triumphant, personal, bodily return.
We believe in the absolute and essential Deity and personality of the Holy Spirit who convinces men of sin, of righteousness and of judgement; who regenerates, sanctifies, illuminates, comforts and abides in all who believe in Jesus Christ.
That God specially created Adam and Eve in His own image; that Adam, as representative of the human race sinned and thus incurred the penalty of death, physical and spiritual; and as a consequence all persons inherit a sinful nature, are corrupted in every part and are under the guilt and condemnation of sin (imputed to them). Sin is any lack of conformity to, or transgression of the law of God.
That salvation is by the sovereign grace of God and that only those who exercise repentance from sin and place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved.
In the resurrection both of the just and the unjust: In the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and in the conscious, eternal punishment of the wicked (those who have rejected the offer of salvation).
The PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS, by which we understand that each Christian has direct access to God through Christ our High priest, and shares with Him in His work of reconciliation. This involves intercession, worship, faithful service and bearing witness to Jesus Christ, even to the ends of the earth.
BELIEVER’S BAPTISM as an act of obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ and a sign of personal repentance, faith and regeneration: it consists of the immersion in water into the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Membership is for born again believers only. Candidates for membership are interviewed by the Church which looks for evidence of salvation. We do not believe baptism by immersion is a requirement for either salvation or membership, and therefore have what is termed an "open membership".
